The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edtion broke the land speed record and is the fastest road car ever with its 431 km/h or 267.8 mph (miles/h)

431 km/h or 267.8 mph ! That’s a speed record for the Bugatti company. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edition model (well that's a long name, it runs faster from 0 to 100 km in less seconds than you can speak to whole name of it) is actually a further development of the classic exclusive 1.001 bhp Bugatti Veyron 16.4 from 2005.

A few technical details
A high performance of 1.200 bhp (882 kW)
Max. torque of 1.500 Newton meters
4 enlarged turbochargers
16 cylinder engine
Lateral acceleration of up to 1.4 G
Limited speed of 415 km/h or 258 mph (miles/h) (to protect the tires they say?)
And the price? Unknown for this moment.

So better tires could get the machine even a bit faster. Maybe a thing to work on for the next model, better tires and who knows another speed record for Bugatti?
Well it did. They just let the beast drive to its top speed with a less security for the tires. A new record was born.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edition achieved a new land speed world record on the test track of the Volkswagen Group at Ehra-Lessien. It achieved an average TOP SPEED of 431 km/h. Good for a new place in the Guinness Book of Records!!
